NONEL TD units consist of a length of yellow shock tube with a Standard (#8) detonator (housed in a plastic bunch block which facilitates easy connection to both shock tube and detonating cord) attached to one end and the other end sealed (a white J-hook near the sealed end provides easy connection to detonating cord) and designed to provide effective and accurate surface timing between blastholes and/or rows of blastholes in surface and underground blasting designs.
