Dyno Nobel and Sandvik Renew Cooperative Agreement

The North America divisions of Sandvik Mining and Construction and Dyno Nobel have renewed their
cooperative agreement in North America to further strengthen the position of both companies in the
marketplace. The cooperative agreement between Sandvik and Dyno Nobel – both global players in the
mining and stone industries – was originated in March 2005 and, since that time, they have worked
together to add real value for their customers. They have developed a better understanding of operational
issues that may affect their customers’ bottom line through skills cross-training and knowledge sharing
relative to the offerings, capabilities and cooperative training programs of both companies.

Working together, Sandvik and Dyno Nobel have recognized that, throughout the entire mineral extraction
process … drilling and blasting, haulage, crushing, screening, etc. … Size Matters! Future work will
continue to focus on practical ways to improve the overall efficiency and payback of our customers’ mining
and processing dollars! In today’s North American market, the customer’s production and business
processes can be used to develop a strategic plan that will add value for all involved. This added value will
provide a competitive advantage in the rapidly changing business environment. The renewal of the
commitment between Sandvik and Dyno Nobel to cooperate and add value for our customer is key to
success in the marketplace.

The cooperative agreement between Dyno Nobel and Sandvik allows greater flexibility in providing
customers with individually customized solutions based on their combined, high quality and more
comprehensive offering while concentrating on their core business competencies. The cooperative
agreement will center on enhancement in the following areas:

• Product development
• Marketing and sales
• Improved quality of products and service

This non-exclusive agreement enables those in direct contact with our mutual customers from both
companies to cooperate and help our customers better compete in their respective markets. One way in
which Dyno Nobel and Sandvik are planning to meet the needs and future challenges of the aggregates
industry is their cooperative effort to conduct another “Quarry Academy” in the near future. This technical
and educational conference, held in conjunction with the Colorado School of Mines, will provide attendees
with the latest thinking for “Improving Processes. Instilling Expertise.”

“Sandvik's mission is to add value to our customer base by having a deep understanding of the issues
confronting our customers. We rely on our people and our partners to ensure that we have access to the
skills, ideas and innovations that will help us provide solutions to these issues. We see this alliance with
Dyno Nobel as a huge step in the right direction for us in this process while it enhances our competence
base. Our organization’s values and overall passion to support our customers' developments make Dyno
Nobel a great partner for us,” stated Sandvik’s Regional President, Dan Allan.

Lars Johansen, President of Dyno Nobel Americas, added, "Dyno Nobel looks forward to a deeper
partnership with Sandvik. We believe that our collaborative efforts will significantly facilitate our ability to
understand our customers’ growing need for improved operational efficiencies and to satisfy them through
better drilling and explosive product utilization."
