Risk Management

Dyno Nobel is committed to preventing accidents and injuries through systematic analyses of risk, periodic audits and training. We demonstrate this on two levels:

Operational level

Global guidelines have been established to manage hazards and mitigate the risk of personal injury and property damage. These guidelines include:

  • Training
  • Personal Protective Equipment specifications
  • Site Inspections
  • Standard and Non-standard operating procedures
  • Incident and corrective action reporting system
  • Material Safety Data Sheets
  • Emergency Procedure Guides
  • Maintenance

Employee level

An individual’s personal responsibility for workplace safety is one of our most powerful influences in preventing accident and injury.

Our on-the-job safety initiative Take 5!  is a compulsory employee training program designed to encourage individuals to accept responsibility for their own behaviour. Employees are taught how to evaluate the severity and probability of accidents and identify better and safer ways to conduct tasks.
