Cast Boosters

Dyno Nobel TROJANĀ® Cast Boosters offer reliable initiation of non-detonator-sensitive blasting agents with sizes and configurations for all commercial explosive applications.

All Dyno Nobel TROJAN® cast boosters are formulated from the highest quality PETN explosive (Pentaerythritol tetranitrate) and other high explosive materials ensuring reliability, consistency and durability in all blasting environments.

Dyno Nobel Boosters

TROJAN® NB Universal Superprime® Cord Sensitive Cast Booster

TROJAN NB Universal cast booster is a detonator and detonating cord sensitive, high density, high energy, molecular explosive available in three sizes. TROJAN NB Universal is manufactured using a homogeneous mixture of pure pentolite for superior performance, reliability, consistency and durability and is especially designed to optimize initiation of all cast booster sensitive and/or detonator sensitive explosives. Each TROJAN NB Universal cast booster is manufactured with two internal through tunnels and a detonator well for easy use with either det cord or commercial explosive detonators. The bright yellow container enhances visibility on the bench and minimizes misplaced charges.

TROJAN® NB Superprime® Cord Sensitive Cast Booster

TROJAN NB Superprime cast boosters are detonating cord sensitive, high density, high energy molecular explosives available in various sizes. They contain no internal sensitizers or boosters and are manufactured with two restricted cord tunnels supporting initiation with 3.8 g/m (18 gr/ft) PRIMACORD detonating cord only. TROJAN NB Superprime cord sensitive cast boosters are made of a homogenous mixture of pure pentolite for superior performance, reliability, consistency and durability.

TROJAN® Ringprime Cast Booster

TROJAN® RINGPRIME cast booster is a detonator sensitive, high density, high energy molecular explosive, cast into a plastic shell. They are particularly suited for use in underground blasting operations. It has a single tunnel and capwell located centrally in the booster which will accept both NONEL® and DigiShot® Plus or SmartShot™ electronic initiation system detonators.  The top of the TROJAN RINGPRIME wells are recessed to protect the initiation line from damage and the recessed bottom allows the insertion of a loading hose to assist in positioning the primer in the borehole.

TROJAN® Spartan SL - Slider Cast Booster

TROJAN SPARTAN SL cast boosters are high density, high energy molecular explosives available in various sizes. They are designed specifically for use in multiple deck blasting applications. TROJAN SPARTAN SL cast boosters are most effective when used with a short lead, nonelectric initiation system such as NONEL SL units.

TROJAN® Spartan SR - Shock Resistant Cast Booster

TROJAN SPARTAN SR cast boosters are detonator sensitive, high density, high energy molecular explosives available in three sizes designed to optimize initiation of all booster detonator sensitive explosives.  In addition to the internal through-tunnel and detonator well, the TROJAN SPARTAN SR cast booster has an internal sleeve to protect the circuit board in electronic detonators and is designed specifically for use with Dyno Nobel’s DigiShot, DigiShot Plus and SmartShot electronic detonators. The Trojan Spartan SR can, however, also be used with any detonator (minimum length = 8.89 cm / 3.5 in) that may require additional protection from high shock, water hammer, effects during decking, corner operations or in certain geologies. The TROJAN SPARTAN SR  cast booster also incorporates the unique Caplock™ feature which holds the detonator in place more securely and makes it more difficult for the detonator to be pulled out of capwell position while it is being lowered into the borehole.

TROJAN® Spartan Cast Booster

TROJAN SPARTAN cast boosters are detonator sensitive, high density, high energy molecular explosives available in various sizes designed to optimize initiation of all booster sensitive explosives. All TROJAN SPARTAN boosters are manufactured with an internal through-tunnel and detonator well for easy application with either electric, electronic or nonelectric detonators or 10.6 g/m (50 gr/ft) minimum strength detonating cord. TROJAN SPARTAN boosters are formulated from the highest quality PETN and other high explosive materials ensuring reliability, consistency and durability in all blasting environments. The fluorescent green container and clear printing makes the TROJAN SPARTAN booster more visible on the blast site (as well as in low light situations) and reduces the possibility of misplaced charges. The redesigned Caplock™ holds the detonator in place more securely and makes it more difficult for the detonator to be pulled out of the capwell position while it is being lowered into the borehole.

TROJAN® Stinger Superprime Cast Booster

TROJAN STINGER Superprime cast boosters are detonator sensitive, high density, high energy molecular explosives specially designed for use in small diameter boreholes.  They are particularly suited for use in underground blasting operations. Most commercially available electric and nonelectric detonators will fit into the molded plastic capwell.  TROJAN STINGER cast boosters are manufactured using a homogeneous mixture of pure pentolite for superior performance, reliability, consistency and durability.

TROJAN® Twinplex

TROJAN TWINPLEX cast boosters are detonator sensitive, high density, high energy molecular explosives designed with 2 detonator wells and an enlarged through-tunnel to accommodate the use of 2 detonators where required.  TROJAN TWINPLEX cast boosters are formulated from the highest quality PETN and other high explosive materials ensuring reliability, consistency and durability in all blasting environments. The fluorescent green container and clear printing makes the TROJAN TWINPLEX  booster more visible on the blast site (as well as in low light situations) and reduces the possibility of misplaced charges. The redesigned Caplock™ holds the detonator in place more securely and makes it more difficult for the detonator to be pulled out of the capwell position while it is being lowered into the borehole.
