Diversity and Inclusion

We nurture a diverse workforce and develop our people to create business sustainability

Our diversity is part of our Core Values:  we value our people and respect, recognise and reward them.  We are committed to supporting and building an inclusive and accessible organisation that embraces the diversity of all employees, no matter where they live and work.

Our employees range in age and gender and come from many different cultures, traditions and lifestyles. It is the diversity of our people that make our company a great place to work.

We affirmatively seek to advance the principles of equal employment opportunity and do not discriminate on the basis of race, colour, religion, gender, age, national origin, sexual orientation, citizenship, marital status, special disabled veteran status, Vietnam era veteran status, other covered veteran or disability status or any other legally protected classification.

We benefit from this variety of perspectives and ideas, experience and capabilities, all of which lead to a greater opportunity for innovation and a better workplace.  Diversity fits alongside Business Excellence (BEx) with “Everyone delivering excellence, every day.”

As part of our Diversity approach, we have developed three guiding principles that are easy to understand and live by as we go about our work and support each other every day:

  1. Respecting our differences
  2. Shaping our future organization
  3. Building a flexible organization

Respecting our differences means our work places will be free of discrimination and harassment and inclusive of all people, regardless of differences.

Shaping our future organization means we will nurture a diverse workforce, developing its people to create business sustainability and strength.  The company will also build a flexible organisation by endeavoring to provide opportunities for working arrangements that accommodate the needs of the company while balancing the diverse needs of its people at different stages in both career and life.

We want Dyno Nobel to continue to be a company where our Values guide our behaviours in the workplace and each and every one of us is respected for our contributions.

Indigenous Employment Program

We value the diversity of its people and, through promotion of an inclusive culture, recognises that contributions of diversity of thought provide greater opportunity for innovation and improved business outcomes.  We are committed to the development of an inclusive and accessible organisation through the establishment and nurturing of a culture that appreciates diversity in all forms.

The purpose of IPL's Indigenous Employment Strategy is to lay down a much needed critical pathway to guide the organisation in building on our investment of working in partnership with Indigenous Australians. It aims to improve employment outcomes and contribute in a meaningful way to closing the gap on social disparity between Indigenous and Non Indigenous Australians.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people have a significant place in the past, present and future of Australia as the acknowledged First Peoples of this land. In recognition of the importance of Indigenous people and culture within Australia, our vision for this strategy is to become known among Indigenous communities as a leader in providing meaningful employment outcomes for Indigenous Australians.

The Indigenous Employment Strategy is a key business imperative in our journey forward to becoming a better business, because embracing diversity is an important and integral step in becoming that smarter, better business!
